Telling the Whole Story: A Presentation on the History of the Free and Enslaved of the Moffatt Ladd House.
A foremost concern of the National Society of the Colonial Dames of America (NSCDA) is how to address the position for preserving properties whose histories include enslaved populations. Among the 80 plus historic properties either administered or owned by NSCDA corporate societies, the Moffatt Ladd House was among those who mounted excellent exhibits about the enslaved who lived and worked at those properties.
Paige Trace, current president of the New Hampshire chapter, was invited to make a presentation at the Oct 9, 2020 president’s meeting of the NSCDA to show how the Moffatt Ladd House addressed these concerns. Below is a PDF made from the original PowerPoint presentation.
